Twelve standards. Each one answers three questions.

What the standard actually measures, which of our models complies, and which document proves it. No logo wall without a report behind it.

Pick the standard your client names.

Every card opens a page that explains the test method in plain language, lists the compliant models and links the report.

ASTM D4956Americas

Reflective sheeting for signs

The US sign-sheeting standard: RA measured at a fixed geometry, seven types in current use, Type I–XI.

ASTM D4956Open
EN 12899-1Europe

Fixed vertical road signs

The European sign standard: RA1/RA2/RA3 classes, plus substrate, edge sealing and factory production control.

EN 12899-1Open
FMVSS 108 / DOT-C2Americas

Vehicle conspicuity

US conspicuity marking for heavy vehicles: 2 in alternating red/white, 250 RA minimum, self-certified.

FMVSS 108 / DOT-C2Open
ECE 104REurope

Vehicle marking, Classes A–F

The ECE equivalent of conspicuity tape: Class C for heavy vehicles, a different mark and a different geometry.

ECE 104ROpen
EN ISO 20471Europe

Hi-vis clothing

High-visibility clothing in three classes, with retroreflection tested after the wash cycles the garment will see.

EN ISO 20471Open
ANSI/ISEA 107Americas

Hi-vis apparel and headwear

The US high-visibility apparel standard: Type O/R/P by work environment, Class 2 and 3 by material area.

Retroreflective sheeting

The Chinese sheeting standard: Classes I–V, and the reference used when comparing a Chinese quote with a European one.

GB/T 18833Open
AS/NZS 1906.1Asia & Oceania

Reflective materials

The Australian/New Zealand materials standard, in two classes, used across road and vehicle marking.

AS/NZS 1906.1Open
JIS Z 9117Asia & Oceania

Retroreflective sheeting

The Japanese sheeting standard: Classes 1–4, typically requested alongside a JQA report.

JIS Z 9117Open
ISO 7591Europe

Vehicle registration plates

The international standard for retroreflective vehicle registration plate sheeting.

ISO 7591Open
ASTM E2072 / E2073Americas

Photoluminescent marking

Two photoluminescent standards: what the material is tested to, and how the 90-minute luminance is measured.

ASTM E2072 / E2073Open
IBC 1025 / IFC 1025Buildings & Fire

Egress path marking

The code clause behind luminous egress marking: a continuous path, a 90-minute luminance and a UL listing.

IBC 1025 / IFC 1025Open

Report dates are the most recent issue. Certificates expire — if you need a current-issue copy for a tender, request it and we will send the PDF with the validity window stated on the first page.

Compliance matrix

Which model passes which standard.

The single table a distributor asks for before quoting into a new market.

A dash means the standard does not apply to that product — not that the product failed it. The matrix is the fastest way to answer "does this model work for my market".

Reading a certificate

Four things to check before you accept one.

Most rejected tender submissions fail on paperwork, not product.

No. ASTM D4956 and EN 12899-1 measure retroreflection with different geometries and different minimum values, and a European notified body will not accept an ASTM report as evidence of CE conformity. The same film usually passes both — but it needs two reports, and we hold both for the models listed above.

A test report records what a laboratory measured on a sample. A certificate is issued by a certification body against a scheme, carries a validity window, and is what a tender usually asks for. We supply both, and label them clearly so they are not confused in a submission.

Every shipment carries a batch certificate with the RA readings for that coating run, the lot number and the adhesion result. Third-party reports cover the model, not the batch — that is how the industry works, and any supplier claiming otherwise is worth a second look.

Yes. Send the clause or the national annex and our compliance engineer will map it to the closest equivalent and tell you whether an additional test is needed. Turnaround is usually two to three business days.

How to read our reports

Page 1 — scope

Names the model, the standard clause and the test laboratory. If your tender specifies a clause that is not on page 1, the report does not cover it.

Page 2 — measured values

Actual readings, not just pass/fail. Our values typically run 8–12% above the standard minimum — useful when a client applies a safety margin.

Last page — validity

Issue date, expiry date and the notified-body stamp. A report without an expiry date is a datasheet, not a certificate.
