Sixteen applications. Sixteen grade decisions.
Every scenario below is one a customer actually sent us in the last twelve months — with the model that shipped and the reason it was the right one.
Start from where the material has to work.
Buyers rarely search for "PMMA microprismatic film". They search for "reflective tape for trailers" or "sheeting for highway signs". This page is organised the same way — by the place, not the polymer.
Road infrastructure
4 applications| Application | Recommended model | Why this grade | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Highway & expressway signs | NVR-8000 / NVR-11000 | Overhead geometry needs angularity, not just peak brightness | Quote |
| Work zone drums & barricades | NVR-4200 | Read at close range and low angle — Type IV is the volume answer | Quote |
| Delineation & guideposts | NVR-2000 + NVR-DP90 | Small area, repeated at speed; Type II is enough and lasts 7 years | Quote |
| Tunnels & underpasses | NVR-11000 + NVR-PL45 | Contrast against a dark surround, plus a passive fallback | Quote |
Vehicles & fleets
4 applications| Application | Recommended model | Why this grade | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Truck & trailer conspicuity | NVR-C2 (DOT-C2) | FMVSS 108 pattern is prescriptive — the tape must alternate red/white | Quote |
| EU fleet marking | NVR-C3 (ECE 104R) | Class C tape for vehicles registered in ECE markets | Quote |
| Emergency vehicles | NVR-4200 + NVR-HTV100 | High-contrast chevrons and door graphics, printed or cut | Quote |
| Rail & port equipment | NVR-8000 | Large flat panels read from a distance at shallow angles | Quote |
People & workwear
4 applications| Application | Recommended model | Why this grade | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hi-vis apparel manufacturing | NVR-FR200 | 50 industrial washes at 60 °C without dropping below Class 2 | Quote |
| Industrial laundry programmes | NVR-FR200-HT | Heavier encapsulation for laundries running beyond 50 cycles | Quote |
| Fire & rescue | NVR-FR200 + NVR-PT50 | FR substrate plus piping where a flat tape will not follow the seam | Quote |
| Event & security staff | NVR-TC150 + NVR-HTV100 | Lower wash requirement, lower cost, same visual standard | Quote |
Buildings & facilities
4 applications| Application | Recommended model | Why this grade | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Egress & evacuation | NVR-PL9 + NVR-PL45 | IBC 1025 requires a continuous marked path, not just an exit sign | Quote |
| Parking structures | NVR-PL30 + NVR-2000 | Wayfinding that survives a power failure and a pressure washer | Quote |
| Marine & offshore | NVR-8000 + NVR-LP750 | Salt-fog exposure; edge sealing is mandatory, not optional | Quote |
| Advertising & signage | NVR-P3500 | Print-retentive topcoat keeps 82% of RA after full coverage | Quote |
The specification said Type IV. The site needed Type VIII.
A regional contractor in northern Chile specified Type IV for gantry signs copied from a European tender. At 4,100 m altitude the signs sit 7 m above a road where traffic runs at 100 km/h — the observation angle is far wider than the tender assumed, and the signs read dim at night.
We re-ran the geometry, quoted Type VIII at a 36% premium, and the client avoided a re-sign after first inspection. The lesson is not that Type IV is bad — it is that the grade follows the geometry, not the tender template.

Case detail is more useful than a logo wall. Each note names the country, the volume and the acceptance result.
Poland · S7 expressway
Type VIII for 640 gantry panels and 96 km of delineation. First-inspection acceptance on all panels; the client now specifies Type VIII as standard.
Chile · Escondida
FR fabric, piping and HTV for 4,200 operator garments. 50-wash validation passed at 62 cycles, which set the tender for the next three years.
Saudi Arabia · NEOM
DOT-C2 tape on logistics trailers in 48 °C ambient. Adhesion re-tested at 6 and 12 months; no lift at the seams after two summers.
